Shelley is a Somatic Sex Therapist, drawing upon her unique blend of expertise in Psychological, Medical and Psycho-therapeutic modalities. Shelley works with individuals, couples and relationships with a diverse range of needs. Her approach is warm, friendly and empathic. Shelley works with individuals and relationships that are facing issues such as:

Sex Specific- Painful sex, Low libido, mismatched libido, injury disease and disability, sex, porn and love addiction, kinks and fetishes. 

Vaginas- Vulvodynia, Vaginismus, childbirth trauma and sex after childbirth, sexual difficulties caused by Endometriosis, Adenomyosis and PCOS, sex after menopause.

Penises - erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, prostate issues, retrograde ejaculation, 

Trans-Gender- adjusting to hormonal changes, scar tissue, exploring your sexuality in your new/emerging body.

Trauma Specific- Experienced working with childhood trauma (emotional, sexual and developmental), as well as sexual abuse, rape and adult trauma. Experienced with PTSD, CPTSD and borderline personality disorder (BPD). Shelley uses an evidence-based approach to work with Trauma, including somatic awareness, mindfulness and body-based trauma therapy. 

Relationships specific - High conflict relationships, enhancing communication,  understanding consent, recovering from affairs and couples facing sex addiction recovery. Experienced with  Polyamorous relationships and consensual non-monogamy.

Queer and Non-Binary Communities - Shelley works with individuals and relationships on the full spectrum of gender and sexuality. Shelley is trans-informed and is currently studying the Transgender Care certification (ISTTI). Pronoun respectful and experienced working with transgender, non-binary and transitioning relationships, monogamous and non-monogamous relationships. All sexual orientations are welcome. Experienced working with individuals and relationships exploring Kink and fetiches. 

Sex Workers - Shelley frequently works with Sex Workers (including online entertainment, live entertainers, private and brothel full-service workers, tantra practitioners,  sex surrogates and sexological bodyworkers). Shelley will maintain your privacy, and works respectfully with your career choices. Many of Shelley's clients who are sex workers are seeking general therapy not related to sex or their career but don't want a therapist who will pathologise their career choice or who is uneducated and inexperienced in this area. 

Neuro-diversity- Shelley is experienced working with people who experience ADD/ADHD and ASD. Shelley works from a neuro-diverse affirming framework, helping people to understand their strengths and how to enjoy sexuality and relationships with your neuro-diversity, not in spite of it. 

Mental Health - Shelley is experienced working with individuals and relationships experiencing a range of mental health difficulties that impact relationship and/or sex life, such as mood disorders (depression, bipolar, anhedonia), anxiety disorders (generalised anxiety, social anxiety, OCD) and addictions. While you need to be treated by a psychologist and/or psychiatrist for the management of these conditions, Shelley can help you with how these may interact with your relationships and sexual expression.
