Your week 1 POD Activity

Set a time to meet with the people in your pod - use your own Zoom/Google/MSTeams service

  1. Fill in Pertot 1 form before your pod meeting (form above) (you can choose to use your own, or create a false one for the exercises. Noting, sharing personal information you don't feel comfortable sharing is not required.  Fill it in however, feels most useful for you)

  2. Take Turns to role-play

  • 1 person will be a therapist/practitioner. 

  • 2 people will be part of a 'couple' that is experiencing desire discrepancy

  • Then you swap roles so that everyone can play the therapist/practitioner. Time these for 10-15 minutes, and if you want debrief on the exercise. 


Instructions for the therapist/practitioner in the role play

1.    Use the form to; 

  • Introduce talking about sex

  • How it is prioritised in the relationship

  • See where sex falls, but pay attention to the scale on the bottom to where sex is prioritised individually.

  • i.e. Both people might find sex really important but prioritise it differently. Which means one person might be more willing and available for sex and the other might have nappies, dog walking or concerns about finances as a priority before sex. 


2.     Weave in some learnings from Week 1

  • Discuss with your ‘clients’

  • Top 3

  • Where did sex fall

  • Bottom two

  • The last question on importance of sex

3.    Aim for client discussion about the importance of sex and how they prioritise it.

After completing the exercise, individually complete the POD 1 Learning form

Some guidelines/ideas:

  • What did you learn about the importance of sex for couples

  • Friendship vs companionship?

  • How easy was it to talk about sex 

  • Where were your views different to your clients

  • What was done well. 

  • Any Questions?
